Zain to join forces with startups to innovate

Zain, the leading digital service provider in Kuwait, has announced the sixth edition of the Zain Great Idea Acceleration Program in an entirely virtual format.

The program collaborates with Brilliant Lab, a start-up accelerator in Kuwait, and Mind the Bridge, a global organization based in Silicon Valley, and will focus on providing entrepreneurship education for start-ups, enterprises, and investors.

Shortlisted startups will participate in a four-week virtual boot camp that will include workshops, training sessions, and roundtable discussions led by world-leading subject matter experts, and will be given the opportunity to receive a $50,000 cash investment to propel their tech start-ups.

why it matters
Institutions across the GCC states have been gradually increasing their focus on early-stage tech investments, and many have been collaborating with startup platforms to provide a nurturing and enabling springboard for promising ideas. Whilst, so far, institutions in some GCC states have led the startup movement ahead of others (shoutout to the UAE), it seems that the rest of the countries in the region are following suit.
